The Director assures accountability for the provision of cost-effective, high-quality safe patient care for the patient undergoing surgery and procedures across both hospitals, preoperative clinic, Center for Wound Care, and the Ambulatory Surgery Center. The Director has shared accountability for outcomes of care.
Responsibilities include:
The Director has primary twenty-four hour responsibility for over 130 employees and 102 FTEs within the department. He/she consults with and advises the CNO and medical leadership regarding activities related to clinical operations, quality improvement and risk management activities for the areas of responsibility which include surgery services, PACU, Surgical Prep Area (SPA), endoscopy services, central supply, Center for Wound Care and the Ambulatory Surgery Center. The director advocates for and develops programs and services required to achieve organizational objectives and facilitate staff engagement in practice development.
This position requires a degree in nursing, an ANCC certification and a California RN license
